Job Title: VP Sales and Merchandising
About the Company: Carrie Amber Intimates has been a global leader in intimate apparel for over two decades. We are renowned for our trend designs and forward-thinking fashion. Our brands have garnered accolades and rave reviews from both shoppers and buyers across the U.S. and abroad. Our customers include regional department stores, national chains, and specialty stores. In addition to our own brands, we do private labels for major domestic and international retailers.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced VP of Sales and Merchandising to lead our sales and merchandising efforts. This pivotal role will be responsible for driving revenue growth, building strong relationships with key accounts, and overseeing the development and execution of merchandising strategies. The ideal candidate enjoys being out and about in the field - attending trade shows, meeting with clients, and is sales driven.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Leadership
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue and profitability goals.
- Lead and motivate the existing sales team to exceed targets and maintain a strong sales pipeline.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, including buyers and decision-makers at major off-price retailers.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand our market reach.
- Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with retailers to maximize profitability.
- Understand basic budgeting, forecasting and pricing strategies to collaborate with finance department.
Merchandising
- Develop and execute comprehensive merchandising strategies aligned with market trends and consumer preferences.
- Analyze sales data and market trends to identify opportunities for growth and optimization.
- Collaborate with the design and product development teams to create innovative and marketable product assortments.
- Manage inventory levels to optimize stock turns and minimize markdowns.
- Oversee the planning and execution of seasonal merchandising plans.
Licensing
- Build and maintain strong relationships with licensors to secure strategic partnerships.
- Negotiate favorable licensing terms and manage royalty payments.
- Oversee the development and launch of licensed products.
Team Management
- Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to team members to foster professional growth. Team of 6
- Establish a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Hire international sales team members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in fashion merchandising, business, marketing, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in sales and merchandising, including in mass market and off-price channel in apparel related industry. A Must.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and building strong customer relationships.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and sales management software.
- A passion for fashion and a keen eye for trends.
