We are seeking a dedicated Associate Attorney with experience in medical malpractice defense to join a well‑respected law firm in Sacramento, California. This hybrid position offers the flexibility to work both in-office and remotely while contributing to complex and high‑impact litigation matters. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, an exceptional researcher and writer, and someone who thrives in a collaborative litigation environment. ResponsibilitiesProvide legal counsel and strategic guidance to healthcare clients, ensuring their rights and interests are fully protected.

Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery responses, and other legal documents with accuracy and clarity. Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and other litigation proceedings. Review, analyze, and summarize medical records, expert reports, and case-related documentation. Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex medical malpractice and civil defense matters.

Manage discovery, including drafting discovery requests, handling depositions, and overseeing evidence collection. Handle a mixed caseload efficiently, ensuring cases progress in a timely mannerQualificationsActive and in-good-standing membership with the California State Bar. Demonstrated experience drafting motions, pleadings, and other litigation documents independently. Prior experience in civil defense litigation; medical malpractice defense experience strongly preferred.

Strong legal research and analytical skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Strong negotiation skills with the ability to reach favorable resolutions. Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced litigation environment.
