Holy Trinity: An Episcopal School, serving children in Preschool through Eighth grade on two campuses in Bowie and Glenn Dale, Maryland is welcoming qualified applicants for a Middle School ELA Teacher. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic record focusing on writing, reading, and analysis. She/he must successfully pass a criminal background check. This position will report directly to the Head of High School Prep.
Responsibilities include:
Teach 8th Grade English and an elective course
Serve as an advisor in the Student Advisory Program
Participate in the school community with other duties as assigned
The ideal candidate will possess:
Bachelor’s Degree in English required; Master’s Degree preferred; MSDE certification preferred
Experience working in an independent school setting preferred
Willingness to work collaboratively with administration, faculty, and parents
Eagerness to embrace the mission and values of Holy Trinity and our connection to the Episcopal Church
Commitment to equity and inclusion and have experience working with a diverse student population
Genuine enthusiasm, personal warmth, and high energy level
Candidates will be subject to a criminal background check, a Child Protection Services screening and a MSDE Employment History Review screening for Child Sexual Abuse and Sexual Misconduct before employment, as well as a driving record screening.
