Academic Advisor

Corestaff Services is seeking a Academic Advisor for a reputable University in Bowie, MD.

Position Type: 6-month assignment (starting Monday, April 29th)

Work Arrangement: 100% onsite

We are currently seeking dedicated academic advisors to join our team in Bowie, MD. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact by counseling and coaching pre-nursing students and facilitating communication with the Financial Aid Department.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive academic advising and support to pre-nursing students.
• Assist students in developing educational plans, setting academic goals, and navigating university policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with the Financial Aid Department to ensure students have access to necessary resources and support.
• Utilize advanced techniques in spreadsheet, database, and presentation software to analyze and interpret student data.
• Maintain proficiency in University student record system (Peoplesoft) and stay updated on relevant policies and procedures.

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in College Student Personnel, Higher Education, or related field.
• Previous experience in academic advising, student personnel administration, or counseling preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of University student record system (Peoplesoft), policies, and procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Knowledge of HTML is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data effectively.
