Position Summary

The Project Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing and managing complex commercial construction projects valued up to $200 million. This critical role requires exceptional leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.



Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct field leadership and management of large-scale commercial construction projects
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules, ensuring adherence to timelines and milestones
  • Coordinate and supervise daily construction activities, including workforce management, equipment allocation, and material procurement
  • Implement and enforce stringent safety protocols and OSHA regulations on all job sites
  • Manage subcontractor relationships, ensuring quality work, timely completion, and compliance with project specifications
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor quality, progress, and safety standards
  • Prepare and maintain detailed daily reports, progress documentation, and project logs
  • Resolve on-site conflicts and challenges promptly and professionally
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and client representatives
  • Manage project budgets and identify potential cost-saving opportunities
  • Ensure all work meets or exceeds client expectations and industry standards


Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of commercial construction experience
  • Proven track record of managing projects valued over $20 million
  • Comprehensive understanding of construction methods, materials, and technologies
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Microsoft Project)
  • OSHA certifications
  • Valid driver's license


Preferred

  • Previous experience in Chicago metropolitan area construction projects
  • Bilingual capabilities

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in diverse weather conditions
  • Regular site visits requiring standing, walking, and climbing
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Must wear and utilize personal protective equipment (PPE)
