Job Summary

The Clinical Director for Residential Services oversees and provides support to the Clinical Department, including: planning, communications, and assisting in training clinical staff in QSAC’s group homes in NYC and Long Island. The Clinical Director works closely with the Residential and Nursing Departments to support the functions of the Residential Department; designs; implements and supervises interventions for individuals on the autism spectrum. Ongoing coordination, training, and analysis of behavior support plans. The Clinical Director works closely with medical doctors providing psychiatric support to individuals in the Residential Program. The Residential Program supports approximately 200 individuals diagnosed with autism and other development disabilities, many of whom are duly diagnosed with a psychiatric disability.


Job Responsibilities

Clinical Intervention, Assessment & Analysis

  • Coordinate and oversee collection and analysis of behavioral data
  • Design, conduct and supervise behavioral interventions for individuals that engage in challenging behaviors.
  • Supervise staff responsible for completing behavior support plans and progress notes.
  • Provide psychiatric management for individuals in residential program.
  • Participate in clinical aspects of the admissions and discharge process including but not limited to screenings, assessment, and in the development of new programs/services, proposals

Train & Coach

  • Develop and supervise training programs for staff development to appropriately work with individuals living in residences operated by QSAC
  • Train and supervise Behavioral Intervention Specialists (BIS) on the collection and analysis of behavioral data

Administrative

  • Provide ongoing review of best clinical practices and propose changes to maximize effectiveness
  • Support management initiatives and presentations by contributing to staff meetings and training sessions
  • Chair Agency Human Rights Committee (HRC)

Qualification and Work Experience

  • Master’s Degree in Psychology, Behavioral or Social Sciences required
  • • PhD preferred
  • • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) preferred
  • • 3-5 years of experience working in behavioral health residential services for people with ID/DD or autism
  • • Strong supervisory and leadership skills required
  • • Experience with nonprofit services, OPWDD regulations and compliance required
  • • Strong clinical/diagnostic skills
  • • Strong skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google applications
  • • Willingness to travel within QSAC locations is essential
  • • NYS Driver’s License
