  • You are proficient in network management, problem solving, ticketing software, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities and more:

The Network Specialist/Network Engineer works as a team member of the Engineering and support team to monitor, support, and troubleshoot client networks and deployed devices at client sites. This position’s primary focus is to resolve break/fix issues and address new service requests in a timely manner, as well as participate with the scheduling and execution and deployment of network devices. This would include meeting with technicians on-site to coordinate planned maintenance or meeting vendors to perform site surveys. This position may also provide Project Management to design, maintain, and improve client networks. This position will participate in an on-call rotation during non-business hours.


✅ Education and experience:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

• Training/certifications (such as CCNA, CWNA) preferred.

• Customer facing technical support role requiring verbal and written communication with customers and using a ticketing system required.

• You are passionate about technology and integrated systems.

• A+, Network+, or equivalent accreditation.

• Basic understanding of AV systems is a plus.

• Attention to detail.

• Good problem-solving skills.

• At least three years of technical support or network administration experience.

• Experience with mobile app deployment is a plus


✅ Job qualifications:

• Managed network switch configuration, upgrade using common CLI commands. Understanding of layer 2 connectivity and concepts such as port configuration, VLANs, Trunking/LAG, and MAC addresses.

• Router configuration and basic routing concepts including subnets and subnet masks, next hop, routing tables and troubleshooting connectivity between subnets).

• Wireless troubleshooting for coverage/performance issues using tools to assess signal strength, interference, and client specific problems.

• Basic firewall policy construction using source/destination addresses and ports and troubleshooting issues related to firewall policies.

• DNS configuration for basic records such as TXT, A, CNAME, PTR. Ability to use tools like “dnslookup” and “host” to troubleshoot missing or incorrect information.

• DHCP configuration for subnets/address pools or reserved/fixed IP information.

• Client VPN concepts and troubleshooting connectivity issues.

• Familiarity with Network monitoring tools and concepts for monitoring performance, generating reports or alerts.

• Packet capturing using tools like Wireshark.

• Experience with leading small to midsize projects required.

• Managing and prioritizing assigned tickets using a trouble ticketing system.

• Ability to multitask and prioritize activities.

• Excellent customer service skills; tact and sensitivity in dealing with a diverse user

community.

• Good written and oral communications skills required.

• Provide technical support for network and VoIP related incidents and service requests.

• Responsible for assisting with remote installation & support of systems.

• Monitor and ensure networks are operational and reliable.

• Maintaining backups and upgrades of servers and network hardware.

• Managing technical documentation of network installations.

• Remote troubleshooting and configuration of network equipment.

• Work with engineering team to design, implement, and support LAN/WAN/WLAN infrastructure.
