Swim Specialist

Elmwood Day Camp is seeking lifeguards for the summer of 2024 to join our camp family. The swim staff at Elmwood is an elite team of trained lifeguards who are each dedicated to the progression of each camper’s swim ability, safety and love for the water.

Responsibilities with campers include but are not limited to:

- Teaching swim to small groups of campers

- Managing camper swim progress

- Lifeguarding

- Ensuring campers safety and well-being

- Communicating with swim director

- Being part of the camp community

The lifeguard position is a full-time commitment of 8 weeks – Monday through Friday from 8:20 – 4:10, plus 2-3 days of mandatory staff orientation.

Required:

- American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification (or willingness to obtain one)

Elmwood is a children’s day camp located in Westchester, NY, in a beautiful wooded residential section of White Plains. As a part of the Elmwood team, staff members are sure to enjoy the challenges, triumphs, responsibilities, rewards and fun that make up each day. We believe that in the process of making Elmwood “a great place to be me” for each camper, our staff members find that they too are in “a great place to be me”. We have a high energy and friendly staff. We offer optional staff rec events post camp to allow staff to get to know each other after the camp day.

Camp Dates: June 27 – August 22
