Role Description

This is a part-time role with stipend pay for an Assistant Varsity Boys Basketball Coach at The St. John's School located in Houston, TX. The coach will be responsible for helping to coach and mentor the varsity boys basketball team. Their day-to-day tasks will include assisting the head coach with conducting practice sessions, giving input on game strategies, scouting opposing teams and players, assisting the head coach with various administrative duties, and providing guidance and support to improve players' skills and performance. Additional consideration will be paid to applicants who can also coach fall or spring sports.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of coaching at the high school or college level required - Previous head coaching experience at high school or college level will be heavily weighted
  • Strong knowledge of basketball rules, strategies, and techniques
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to motivate and inspire players
  • Passion for basketball and a commitment to player development
  • Availability to attend games and practices
