Job Title: Product Safety Toxicologist – Research & Innovation

Location: Clark, NJ

Work Location/Schedule: Onsite 3 days/week, Remote 2 days/week

Contract Duration: 3+ month W2 Contract

Job Summary: We are seeking a Product Safety Toxicologist to evaluate and ensure the safety of raw materials and finished formulations. This role involves in-depth toxicology assessments, regulatory compliance, and communication with various teams to support product safety and approval processes.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Perform safety assessments on raw materials and finished products, ensuring compliance with global regulations.
  • Evaluate ingredients and formulations, and communicate safety approvals.
  • Compile and review Cosmetic Safety Reports for global regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with Safety, Regulatory, Claims, and Microbiology teams to ensure adequate safety data.
  • Conduct literature searches for robust safety assessments.
  • Provide clear recommendations on safety issues to scientific and non-scientific audiences.

Requirements:

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Pharmacology/Toxicology or related field.
  • 3 years of experience in cosmetics/personal care/consumer healthcare industries.
  • Expertise in toxicology concepts such as skin/eye irritation, skin sensitization, genotoxicity, and phototoxicity.
  • Strong knowledge of risk assessment principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with OTC products.
