Deskside Support



Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing on-site assistance by engaging in end-user support and issue identification across all facets of the IT infrastructure, catering to multiple building locations within specific geographic regions.
  • Performing installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of hardware such as desktops, laptops, printers, and associated peripherals.
  • Undertaking installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of software packages, encompassing operating systems, desktop applications, and bespoke software solutions.
  • Assessing user requests and requirements to recommend suitable technological remedies.
  • Escalating unresolved issues to higher tiers of support and serving as a liaison between technology teams and supported users.
  • Flexibility to work beyond regular hours and participate in rotational on-call duties.
  • Actively engaging in Continuous Improvement and Problem Management processes.
  • Identifying and escalating persistent environmental, desktop, and infrastructure issues to the Problem Management team.
  • Identifying and reporting technology outages affecting users and facilities to the Incident Management team.
  • Managing hardware assets on a day-to-day basis, including procurement, tracking, inventory maintenance, auditing, and disposal.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of a Bachelor's degree and/or substantial relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in providing support and troubleshooting for Microsoft Windows and Office environments.
  • Demonstrated organizational prowess and adept problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency in VMware and Citrix environments.
  • Intermediate understanding of network architecture and topologies.
  • Experience within the financial sector is preferred.
  • Possession of industry-standard certifications would be advantageous (e.g., MCSA, A+, Network+, CCENT, CCT).
  • Experience in shell scripting is a bonus (e.g., Windows PowerShell, Perl, Windows CMD line).
