Windows Systems Administrator w/ AWS

Our client is currently seeking a Windows Systems Administrator with AWS


Hybrid (3 days a week onsite) to Bolingbrook, IL.


Responsibilities:

  1. Trusted Advisor and Best Practices:
  • Investigate recommendations from Trusted Advisor.
  • Propose and implement best practices for Windows systems administration in an AWS environment.
  1. Configuration Management:
  • Utilize AWS Config to track and investigate configuration issues.
  • Propose and implement remediations based on Config findings.
  1. Patching and Monitoring:
  • Use AWS Systems Manager to track patching statuses.
  • Remediate patching failures promptly.
  • Monitor resources using Amazon CloudWatch and address issues as they arise.
  1. Infrastructure Design and Deployment:
  • Participate in the design and deployment of new infrastructure components.
  1. Ticket Management:
  • Manage tickets from the Amazon Managed Services team.

Server Administration:

  1. Active Directory Management:
  • Participate in managing a hybrid Active Directory domain.
  • Install and manage Windows Server roles, including Active Directory Domain Services and IIS.
  1. Backup Management:
  • Handle backup processes for on-premises servers and Microsoft 365.

Microsoft 365 Administration:

  1. Service Administration:
  • Administer Microsoft 365 services such as Entra, Intune, and Teams.
  1. Cloud Onboarding:
  • Facilitate the onboarding and implementation of cloud technologies.
  1. Automation:
  • Use scripting (e.g., PowerShell) and Power Automate to automate repeatable tasks.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Provide tier 3 support for service desk personnel.

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of experience in managing Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Excellent understanding of VPC concepts (subnetting, security groups, routing).
  • Experience with deploying EC2 instances through CloudFormation.
  • Strong knowledge of load balancing and high availability.
  • Familiarity with IAM, roles, and policies.
  • Proficiency with PowerShell and Windows Server.
  • Fundamental understanding of Linux.
  • Experience writing CloudFormation templates using YAML.
  • Familiarity with SAML integrations.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365.
  • AWS Certifications are a plus.
