Mission Statement: Temprian Oncology Incorporated is a Northwestern-University-spinoff company developing and commercializing a novel cancer drug formulation. The company is initially focusing on the development of a nanoparticle-based therapy for the treatment of advanced ocular melanoma.
The Drug: Our platform, based on technology invented at Northwestern University, comprises a nanoscale-packaged prodrug which specifically targets melanoma cells. The development effort will be funded through an STTR grant.
The Position. This full-time position will be integral to the drug-development activities of Temprian Oncology. The candidate will perform critical experiments to manage the drug-manufacturing process and its scalability, as well as solidifying its treatment potential through in vitro and in vivo experiments. The candidate will work closely with development partners at Northwestern University.
This position offers exposure to all aspects of the drug-development process with the opportunity for rapid growth and significant beneficial impact for society. The candidate will be mentored by highly experienced senior scientists, drug-development professionals, and entrepreneurs.
The position includes functions related to laboratory management, innovation management, laboratory safety, inventory management, supervision of potential intern(s), as well as the ordering of materials, supplies and equipment.
Requirements: This position requires a MS degree and experience in nanoparticle (NP) synthesis and analysis, sterile culture, and working with small animals. Candidates holding a BS degree combined with relevant laboratory experience will be considered. The ideal candidate should have experience in synthesis of bioorganic materials, and expertise in spectroscopy, ICP-OES, ICP-MS, RP-HPLC and/or MS, the measurement of NP size and charge, tumor-challenge and IVIS-monitoring experiments, (confocal) microscopy, FACS and IncuCyte analyses.
This position will require adherence to FDA regulatory and Temprian Oncology quality system requirements including general data protection, adherence to training documentation, rigorous protocol and report writing, and archiving of all data and associated information. We are looking for a candidate capable of advancing multiple aspects of the project in parallel and is enthusiastic in learning new responsibilities.
Location: The laboratory will be hosted at the Querrey InQbation Lab, Evanston, IL, 60201. The position requires regular, in-person presence in the laboratory, as well as frequent communication and visits to both Northwestern campuses.
