Duration: 6-month Contract


Job Summary:

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented SQL Developer with Teradata expertise to join our team at Charter Communications. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in SQL development, with strong proficiency in Teradata. This role involves developing, optimizing, and managing large datasets to support business intelligence and analytics initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain complex SQL queries and scripts using Teradata to meet business requirements.
  • Optimize queries for performance, ensuring efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, data architects, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Perform data validation and debugging to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the datasets.
  • Monitor and improve the performance of database systems, including identifying bottlenecks and optimizing database configurations.
  • Develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations as needed to provide business insights.
  • Support data migration and integration projects between Teradata and other data systems.
  • Document technical designs, processes, and procedures for future reference.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in SQL development with a focus on Teradata.
  • Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions.
  • Strong experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and database performance tuning.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and Teradata utilities (e.g., BTEQ, FastLoad, FastExport, TPT).
  • Ability to work with large datasets and manage data quality issues.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience working in an Agile or fast-paced development environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with other database technologies (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of BI and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is advantageous.
  • Prior experience in the telecommunications or media industry is a plus.

  • This is a 6-month contract role with the potential for extension based on performance and business needs.
