Position: Sr. Security Engineer

Rate: 60-80/hr on W2 – Depending on the candidate

Location: Davie, FL

Remote Options: Hybrid 2-3 days a week

Length: 6-12 month contract to hire



Project Details:

The team has been growing for about a year now and they need a Sr. Security Engineer that has broad cyber security background and can complement the security engineering team with a strong technical background. Someone who can guide the project to the finish line, knowledge on how a project should be run, someone who is a go to person to decide on tools. Network knowledge and firewalls understanding. If the business has a network request they come to the security team to give a security perspective.



Day to Day:

This person will be finding the risks within the tools. His team handles the operations, and identity operations support. The team handles all new troubleshooting issues within operations. They need someone who is strong on the engineering side because half the time they are engineering new tools for projects and the other half are maintaining the environment once the tools are deployed.


On-Call support 6-8 people on the team so on-call once ever 6-8 weeks.



From JD:

  • Implement and manage security solutions, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, encryption technologies, and endpoint protection
  • Managed and lead projects
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address potential security risks
  • Identifies security risks, threats and vulnerabilities of networks, systems, applications and new technology initiatives. Monitor security alerts/logs and identify anomalous behavior or potential security incidents
  • Maintain an understanding of industry best practices, emerging threats, and security technologies to ensure the organization stays current with security trends
  • Continuously improves internal security controls to protect systems and data from unauthorized access, modification, and destruction.
  • Participate in security incident response plan, support detection and classification, define containment, remediation and recovery strategies with the team."



Must Haves:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

  • 5+ years of experience in IT security engineering with a focus on implementing and managing security solutions in enterprise environments
  • At least one industry standard certification such as Security+, GSEC, GCIH, Certified Information, (CISSP), (CISA) or other security vendor certification.
  • Knowledge of networking principles, cryptography, and secure architecture design
  • Experience with security tools and technologies, such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, DLP, and endpoint security solutions
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR)
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders and innovative work environment focused on driving excellence in IT security
