Position Summary

The Test Technician is responsible for performing acceptance testing and diagnostic troubleshooting on electronic and RF-based equipment.


Essential Functions / Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Assumes full responsibility of acceptance testing activities for one or more product lines per released procedures.
  • Adapts to different test levels from lower level assemblies (Digital, Analog and RF) to box and system level.
  • Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans from Engineering to perform routine testing, check-out and troubleshooting functions.
  • Performs routine operational tests and fault isolation on systems and equipment to ensure conformance with final product specifications.
  • Calibrate and align RF and digital circuit as required per Acceptance Test Procedure (ATP). Diagnoses and isolates malfunctions down to component level and conducts repairs if instructed.
  • Conducts defined tests and collects data as assigned. Performs final verification of product and paperwork associate with the final product.
  • Able to work with PCs and applications such as MS Windows suite and other related software.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Skills, Experience, Education, Technical/Specialized Knowledge, Certifications, Language High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 2 (two) years technical or vocational education in electronics and communications or a minimum of at least two (2) years of relevant work experience in the requested subject of expertise.
  • Must be able to read and understand electronic schematics and mechanical blue prints.
  • Great with numbers, detail oriented and strong organizational skills. Self-motivated, critical thinker with strong technical background.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Test or Electronic Technician for an electronics manufacturing company in an aviation or communications related field is a plus. IPC or J STD solder certification.

Physical Demands

  • Lifting of production assemblies and commercial test equipment weighing up to 35 lbs. may be required.
