EPC Counsel

A leader in the construction industry is hiring an EPC Counsel with a minimum of 5 years of construction law experience, including at least 3 years in the renewable energy sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for negotiating and drafting Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contracts, subcontractor agreements, and other complex construction agreements. This role requires a balance between the Company's business strategy and the management of potential risks across various markets.
The EPC Counsel will:
- Negotiate, draft, and finalize EPC contracts, subcontractor agreements, and other complex construction-related agreements.
- Review, draft, and negotiate construction, service, supply, and other commercial agreements, ensuring alignment with the Company's business objectives and risk management strategies.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand project requirements and provide legal support throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and provide strategic legal advice to mitigate potential issues in agreements and contracts.
- Develop and maintain standard form agreements and templates to streamline the contracting process.
- Assist in dispute resolution processes, including negotiations and mediations related to contract performance.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction law, with at least 3 years focused on renewable energy projects.
- Strong understanding of EPC contract structures and legal considerations in construction agreements.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to balance business needs with legal risks and compliance.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
