Mountain View, United States Orby AI Full time

About Orby

At Orby, we're building the next-generation AI Automation platform designed to eliminate repetitive business processes, freeing humans from soul-crushing, repetitive work. Powered by our unique "observe, learn, and automate" model, Orby observes user activities, identifies repetitive workflows, and provides suggestions to automate these tasks seamlessly. Operating behind the scenes, Orby continuously learns from human feedback, becoming smarter with no coding required from users.

Our founders bring unparalleled expertise in AI and domain knowledge. Bella Liu, who led AI product and business development at UiPath from early stage through IPO, and Will Lu, who led engineering teams at Google on enterprise AI products over the last decade, form the backbone of Orby's leadership.

During our beta development, Orby has partnered with some of the world's largest organizations to test and refine our product market fit, and secure early adopters who believe in our vision. Our team, composed of top talent from Google, Microsoft, Meta, and Stanford, brings extensive experience in cutting-edge technology.

In July 2023, we secured a Series A funding round from top VCs renowned for backing category-defining companies. Join us as we continue to innovate and shape the future of AI automation.

About the role

As Orby continues to build our products and serve new customers, we are looking for an experienced Product Designer to help craft the future of human-AI interactions at Orby. We are in the early stages, which means you will work on many compelling and diverse design challenges, such as, how users can effectively teach AI about their workflows, how Orby integrates smoothly with customer’s internal systems to get the tasks done, how to smoothly hand off decisions to humans when Orby has low confidence in its execution, etc. You will work closely with cross-functional partners throughout the entire product development process, from research and strategy to iteration, to launch, and continuous improvement. Venturing into this emerging industry, there’s a lot that needs to be figured out. Therefore, you will drive design with sometimes indefinite starting points. This role will involve navigating ambiguity, diving deep, balancing long-term strategic thinking with bias for action to unblock urgent customer demand.

What you'll do at Orby:

  • Contribute directly to overall product strategy, design direction, and the future of how humans interact with our AI product offerings
  • Explore ambiguous and complex problem space, help unpack fundamental customer needs, and identify design opportunities
  • Define, craft, and iterate on design concepts, user flows, interaction patterns, and high-fidelity visuals, eventually delivering exceptional product experiences
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product management, engineering, and design to build and ship your design
  • Elevate Orby's design team by contributing to our culture, refining design practices, raising the bar on design quality, instilling a drive for design excellence and innovation, and supporting each other’s growth. Empower one another to become the designer they can be.

We're excited to work with you if you

  • Want to join our mission of using AI to optimize human productivity and transform they way people work
  • Have an unwavering customer focus and are committed to crafting delightful experiences
  • Are a seasoned designer who balance strategic thinking with hands-on craftsmanship
  • Demonstrate ability to dive deep into nebulous problem spaces, design elegant solutions to solve complex customer problems, and drive projects from concept to launch
  • Have high standards for your craft and consistently deliver exceptional work.
  • Communicate with clarity and intentionality, using storytelling to effectively present your design and rationale to various stakeholders and bring the team along
  • Are owners at heart, ready to take responsibility, unafraid to tread new paths, and eager to create the future.
  • Uphold the highest integrity, fostering trust and honesty.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of industry experience crafting software product experiences. Experience with enterprise software and AI/ML products is a plus.
  • A proven track record of shipping designs that drive customer and business impact.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Experience with a broad range of design methodologies and tools.
  • Bachelor degree in HCI, Design, Architecture or related field, or comparable work experience.
