Jordache is looking for an Assistant Buyer to join our growing team.  The Assistant Buyer will partner with the Buyer to drive business strategies for one of Jordache's iconic brands US Polo Assn.  The Assistant Buyer will aid in developing assortments and promotional strategies to meet or exceed the department’s financial goals.  If you are detail-oriented, a self-starter and have a passion for growing a business, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities

·         Supports Buyer in preparation of key business meetings and owns sample management for business review meetings, style-outs and assortment planning.

·         Performs administrative support including order management, run ad hoc reports and track shipping/receipts to ensure timely delivery of merchandise.

·         Helps build assortment plans by identifying sales trends and forecasting market trends that are brand appropriate.

·         Achieve inventory levels and gross margin goals as established by management.

·         Communicates promotional strategies to operations, stores and marketing departments.

Requirements

·         1-2 years of experience in merchandising/buying or relevant work experience.

·         Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask.

·         Self-starter that can thrive in a fast-paced environment.

·         High degree of flexibility and initiative.

·         Ability to adjust quickly to changing priorities and strategies.

·         Retail math knowledge.

·         Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint). Required to create pivot tables and experience with VLOOKUPS and SUMIFS.

·         BA/BS in Fashion, Business or related field.

·         Work full time in midtown Manhattan.
