Overhead Crane Technician

Position Overview

Location: Quantico, VA

The Overhead Crane Tech is responsible for the diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining of mobile cranes at customer job sites and the branch shop. The technician should be experienced in crane repairs, including working with Construction, Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic, Structural components and have a strong understanding of OSHA, OEM, PLC, Motor Control, and Inspection processes. The technician will work closely with other shop and field technicians to ensure timely and cost-effective repairs.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform corrective and preventative maintenance on overhead cranes at client sites
• Determine the parts required for a repair and perform the repair
• Complete inspections and load tests of overhead cranes, as required
• Provide technical support to clients as required
• Complete required documentation and reports
• Travel to different client sites as required to complete repairs and maintenance
  
  

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience with crane repairman or technician
• Completion of an apprenticeship program or equivalent experience required
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong knowledge of motor controls and electrical systems required
• Knowledge of OSHA and NCCCO regulations preferred
• Experience with OEM parts and equipment preferred
