Cosmetology Instructor

The YLF Cosmetology Institute, located in Hot Springs, Arkansas, provides real-world, immersive training to master the essential skills for a thriving career as a licensed cosmetologist, esthetician, and nail technician. The new institute and state-of-the-art learning facility is scheduled to open in September of 2024.

We are currently looking for Licensed Cosmetology Instructors to join our new team. The ideal candidate should be passionate about professional and financial growth and committed to mentoring students to success as professionals in the beauty industry. These roles will be primarily clinic floor based and working with students at various points in their program.

YLF Cosmetology Institute Instructors will be well-versed in all aspects of the cosmetology field, including hair, esthetics, nails, hair extensions, eyebrow extensions, and more.

Duties

• Teach principles and techniques of hair, esthetics, nails, hair extensions, eyebrow and extensions.
• Provide instruction to students in the practical application of cosmetology treatments, such as facials, shampooing, and permanent waving
• Demonstrate hair cutting and styling techniques
• Monitor student progress and performance and provide feedback
• Maintain records of student attendance and assessments
• Maintain a clean and safe learning environment
• Recommend products and services to clients
• Stay up to date on current trends and maintain valid license
• Maintain equipment and supplies

Skills

• Designing hair styles
• Performing chemical treatments
• Instructing students on hair care, styling, and coloring techniques
• Providing knowledge of sanitation, safety, and state laws related to cosmetology
• Knowledge of brand building to build business in industry
• Comfortable integrating digital technology into teaching practices

Requirements + Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on cosmetology instructing experience
• Current Cosmetology license
• Previous experience as a Cosmetology instructor
• Knowledge of Cosmetology techniques
• Patient
• Organized
• Creative
• Good Communicator
• Knowledgeable
