Summary

You will serve as a behavioral health professional to evaluate and provide a clear, comprehensive, and concise review of Veterans Affairs (VA) Compensation and Pension Behavioral Health Disability claims. The Physician Assistant will not decide the percent of disability or rating, develop treatment plans, or prescribe medication. You will send completed documentation to the VA for

final determination on all disability claims.


This position is a travel position where candidates will be placed in clinics and rural areas throughout the west coast region. Travel, meals and housing will be covered.

You must have the ability to travel to multiple locations and rural areas in the West Coast Region.

Key Roles

  • Assist nurses and other applicable staff in processing for transactional tasks to include, but not limited to, assessments and examinations
  • Administer hearing tests, PFTs, vision tests, patient check-ins and vital signs
  • Some duties may include medical transcriptions
  • Maintain patient records through electronic medical records (EMR) documentation
  • Work independently as needed to achieve day-to-day objectives
  • Coordinate with other medical staff as needed and communicate with internal and customer team members
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Basic Qualifications

  • Ability to read, write, and analyze/evaluate charts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant License required
  • 3+ years of applicable experience
