Sr. Biostatistician

Overview

This position is responsible for providing statistical consulting services to our clients, which are companies that develop and sell medical products. Many medical products require testing in the EU, US, Canada, and other countries before companies may sell them in those markets. Our consulting services include designing clinical trials, analyzing data from trials, and writing reports and papers from the trials.

Reports to President

Accountable to the President, Team Members, and Clients. This position has no direct reports.

Duties and Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Consulting with clients on projects in a professional and friendly manner
• Supporting the development of statistical sections of study protocols, statistical analysis plans, and study reports/publications
• Validating the work of other statisticians in our company
• Developing and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs) as needed
• Programming data outputs accurately and efficiently
• Developing tables, listings, and graphics for reports and other documents
• Developing tools to map requested data to the database/data sources being used for a given client
• Performing sample size calculations or defending sample sizes using other methods in the absence of a formal sample size calculation
• Serving as a DSMB statistician
• Generating table shells for study reports and deliverables
• Authoring statistical sections of study protocols, statistical analysis plans, and study reports/publications

Qualifications

This position requires the following skills and qualifications:

• M.S. or Ph.D. degree in statistics
• A good working knowledge of SPSS, SAS or STATA, PASS, Microsoft, and Google tools
• Ability to learn additional software and applications as needed
• Dependable and focused on meeting time commitments
• A positive attitude about tackling new problems
• An agreeable personality for interfacing with clients
• Work well either independently or on a team
• During training, local personnel must be able to travel to the office as needed
• Work remotely
• Able to sit at a desk and use a computer, keyboard and mouse for most of the working day
• Three to five years experience
