The Director of Search Engine Marketing is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing and strategically driving all aspects of our SEM efforts. Reporting directly to the Head of Demand Generation, this position plays a critical role in setting the direction and leading the execution of SEM strategies across all Business Units and product categories The Director will spearhead initiatives to ensure on-time delivery, drive continuous optimization, and deliver exceptional performance results, including leveraging shopping ads and performance max.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive SEM and performance marketing strategies in alignment with business goals, working closely with the key stakeholders.
  • Lead a team of SEM professionals to plan, manage, and optimize Paid Search campaigns across various platforms, including Google Ads, Bing Ads, and other relevant channels, with an additional focus on Shopping Ads and Performance Max.
  • Drive continuous optimization efforts for search channels, including bid management, product feed optimization, audience segmentation, and campaign structure improvements.
  • Implement and leverage Google's Performance Max campaigns to maximize performance across Shopping Ads, dynamically optimizing bids, placements, and ad formats to drive incremental sales and revenue.
  • Establish a rigorous auditing process for all SEM and performance marketing accounts, ensuring compliance with best practices, performance benchmarks, and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with the Analytics team to generate actionable insights from SEM and performance marketing data, facilitating regular reporting, performance analysis, and ad hoc reporting requests.
  • Forecast and plan SEM and performance marketing growth opportunities, leveraging market insights, competitive analysis, and industry trends to drive strategic decision-making.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on SEM and performance marketing best practices, staying abreast of industry developments, emerging trends, and technological advancements.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the SEM and performance marketing team, providing mentorship, training, and opportunities for career advancement.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in Paid Search advertising and performance marketing, with a proven track record of driving successful SEM and performance marketing campaigns and achieving business objectives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, business administration, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Google Ads certification) preferred.
  • Expertise in SEM campaign management and optimization practices, with proficiency in platforms such as Google Ads, SA360, Bing Ads, and web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting, and PowerPoint for presentations.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex SEM and performance marketing concepts, present findings to stakeholders, and facilitate productive discussions.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with experience in leading and developing high-performing teams in a dynamic and collaborative work environment.
  • Experience in both startup and corporate environments is a plus, with the ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs and organizational structures.
