SUMMARY: The E-commerce Solutions Architect is a full stack engineer responsible for maintaining and developing all aspects of the company’s e-commerce software ecosystem. This role requires strong analytical skills, the ability to gather and interpret requirements, and awareness of industry trends. The ideal candidate will work closely with third-party development and consulting vendors, and in some cases, help to source these vendors. They must be a strong communicator, capable of translating technical terms into business-friendly language, and take accountability and ownership of their work

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Collaboration: Meet regularly with sales, marketing, & e-Commerce teams to discuss design, UX, feature roadmap, business processes, and functionality.

· Design and Architecture: Design and architect software solutions and integrations within the e-commerce system.

· Performance Monitoring: Monitor and manage software performance metrics and logs. Design and implement maintenance routines to improve efficiency.

· Front-end Development: Build interactive front-end UI based on approved designs.

· Back-end Management: Manage back-end infrastructure, domain modeling, data persistence, and inter-process communication.

· Maintenance: Maintain existing sites and supporting applications. Ensure software is up-to-date with the latest technologies.

· Vendor Management: Work with third-party development and consulting vendors and assist in sourcing vendors when necessary.

· Security: Apply security best practices to sites and infrastructure.

· Requirement Gathering: Gather and interpret business requirements, translating them into technical specifications.

· Industry Awareness: Stay updated with industry trends and best practices.

· Ambiguity Management: Work effectively in situations with unclear or incomplete information.

· AI Experience: Utilize experience in working with Artificial Intelligence to enhance e-commerce solutions.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

· Technical Skills:

o Strong understanding of object-oriented design and programming.

o Proficiency in C#, .NET, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SQL.

o Experience with UX concepts, cross-browser compatibility, general web functions, and standards.

o Microsoft Azure experience is a plus.

o Strong understanding of e-commerce concepts and web application architecture.

o Knowledge of security principles, web services (REST/SOAP), and APIs.

o SEO experience is a plus.

o Experience in working with Artificial Intelligence.

· Analytical Skills:

o Strong analytical skills to gather and interpret requirements.

o Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.

· Communication Skills:

o Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

o Ability to translate technical terms into business-friendly language.

· Vendor Management:

o Experience working with third-party development and consulting vendors.

o Ability to source and manage vendor relationships.

· Soft Skills:

o Creative and forward-thinking.

o Adaptable to new techniques.

o Quick learner.

o Good interpersonal skills, self-motivated, team-oriented.

o Ability to meet deadlines, thorough and precise, good multitasker.

o Comfortable working with ambiguity.

· EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

o Degree: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Computer Science, MIS, or related area.

o Experience: At least 4 years of development experience.

o Certifications: Any additional training and certifications are beneficial.
