Job Experience and Education Requirements:
- Education: A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemistry or another science-related field is required. Additionally, a minimum of 12 semester hours in Chemistry must be completed.
- Experience:
- Experience in using, calibrating, and maintaining laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
- A strong understanding of proper analytical methods and techniques.
- Experience with the operation and maintenance of a water treatment plant is essential.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Broad Knowledge:
- Knowledge of analytical, inorganic, environmental, and water chemistries is necessary.
- Detailed understanding of chemical treatment methods and the operation of a water treatment plant is preferred.
- Mechanical and Troubleshooting Skills:
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical systems effectively.
- Ability to read and understand schematic diagrams.
- Ability to identify and solve problems related to the water treatment process.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

- Communication:
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to demonstrate initiative.
- Work Ethic and Adaptability:
- Safety-conscious with a commitment to continuous learning and teamwork.
- Must be adaptable to changing work requirements and able to work independently with limited supervision.
Work Schedule and Availability:
- Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, from 6:00 am - 2:30 pm.
- Post-training Requirements:
- After training, this position will require five 8-hour workdays per week, including weekends and holidays.
- Availability for callouts, overtime, and work during nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
