Our Senior Associates underwrite and supervise a portion of an Underwriter’s book of business, support renewal and new business development, and have the opportunity to achieve full underwriting authority.Responsibilities Underwrite and supervise a portion of an Underwriter’s book of business, focused on renewals and new businessEvaluate, classify, and rate each risk to determine acceptability, coverage, and pricing to prepare quotesAssist Underwriters to develop and execute marketing plans to drive new and renewal business, including in-person agency visits, telemarketing and distributing marketing materialsMentor and train Associate Underwriters as neededQualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience3+ years of commercial underwriting support or industry experienceStrong sales and marketing skills requiredProven organization skills and ability with a strong attention to detailInterest in continued education and professional development to obtain full underwriting authorityTravel when necessary, in order to foster strong client relationshipsBenefitsCompetitive base compensationEmployer paid continuing education courses and designations via access to Kaufman InstituteHealth and welfare benefits including medical, vision and dental401K with employer matchPaid vacation, sick time, and holidaysAccess to Kaufman Wellness ProgramFlexible and hybrid work optionsAbout Our Company Burns & Wilcox, the flagship organization of H.W.
