Objective

Conducts independent projects and experiments within Research & Development program using current technologies. 

 

Essential functions

  • Process human samples, including the isolation of PBMCs from buffy coats, apheresis, and primary patient samples.
  • Culture human and animal cell lines and primary cells using sterile technique.
  • Use flow cytometry, ELISA, multiplex, IncuCyte and other methods to analyze effectiveness of immunotherapies in vitro and in vivo.
  • Produce replication-incompetent virus for use in immunotherapies.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new assays to optimize and validate immunotherapies.
  • Work to scale-up processes developed for small-scale R&D purposes into large-scale GMP manufacturing.
  • Optimize existing SOPs for purifying, expanding, freezing, and thawing immunotherapy products.
  • Analyze multiple sets of data and prepare technical reports summarizing experimental results.
  • Conduct lab work with little or no supervision.
  • Supervise junior research associates as needed.
  • Be responsible for maintaining notebook and be thorough in documentation of data.
  • Assist in the writing and preparation of documents for submission to regulatory bodies
  • Perform other duties as assigned and/or required.
  • Ability to work some irregular hours, including evenings or weekends, depending on workload.
