Fire Alarm Inspection & Service Technician 

 

Job Responsibilities: 

• Perform routine inspections, testing, and service for fire alarm equipment to comply with NFPA 72 

standards. 

• Maintain structured inspection schedules. 

• Discuss deficiencies with customers and follow-up on corrective actions. 

• Complete required documentation including deficiency repair recommendations. 

• Work with Service and Testing Manager, Schedule Coordinator and Office Administrative Staff to ensure 

complete closeout and turnover of jobs to the customer. 

• Perform services and repairs within scope on fire alarm systems. 

• Respond to scheduled and emergency service requests and perform thorough troubleshooting, repair 

and/or replacement. 

• Complete service ticket documentation after each service and prior to leaving the area of work. 

• Provide instructions/training to authorized customer personnel on proper operation of fire alarm system. 


Qualifications:  

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate degree is preferable. 

• Previous experience in inspecting, testing, maintaining, and/or troubleshooting fire alarm systems.  

• Proficient understanding of NFPA Standards.  

• Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations.  

• Flexibility to work varying schedules, including occasional weekends.  

• Strong organizational, decision-making, and communication abilities.  

• Effective customer-facing and service-oriented skills.  

• Eligibility for employment in the United States is a must.  

• Possession of a valid driver's license is required.  

• Ability to utilize ladders and hand tools is necessary. 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

• 3+ years of related experience and/or training in the fire alarm industry. 

• Understanding of fire alarm control panels, including but not limited to: Firelite, Notifier, EST, Mircom, 

Gamewell, Simplex, Siemens and Silent Knight. 

• Lift Certified 

• NICET Fire Alarm Certification Level I
