The Director, Applications Development will be responsible for leading technical development projects in ongoing technical design and platform development efforts to solve complex problems at a rapid pace, utilizing the latest technologies to create solutions that are highly scalable. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years’ experience leading cross-functional development projects in a fast-paced flexible environment with the ability to innovate new methodologies building on existing intellectual capital. Principle Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Chief Technology Officer, SVP Infrastructure & Security, and VP of Database Development and Technology to provide strategic technical direction for development team
  • Lead the development team specializing in best-in-class end user driven audience creation and delivery systems, API driven insight delivery, data visualization and reporting
  • Work closely with functional business and technical teams in project prioritization, assigning work to the team and provide technical strategy and guidance to the development initiatives
  • Hire, train, mentor, and develop top talent and foster a culture of intellectual curiosity that rewards initiative and recognizes exceptional performance
  • Deliver high-quality results on time through meticulous project tracking and scope management
  • Examine project backlogs and upcoming tasks, conduct feasibility analyses, endorse design solutions, and ensure the cohesiveness of the broader system architecture
  • Communicate effectively with both technical, marketing and sales professionals using appropriately focused reporting to illustrate data discussion points
  • Support and enhance production-like environment to ensure their releases have reliability, observability and maintainability
  • Maintain best practices for source code, release management and documentation as required
  • Understand and adopt new technologies and processes to increase productivity and efficiency



Qualifications and Skills:

  • MS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent years of business experience
  • Minimum 8+ years’ experience in data and application development roles with progressive leadership responsibilities leading development teams
  • Strong project management skills, leadership abilities, and a commitment to keeping up with industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • 8+ years’ hands-on experience in developing and managing relational databases. Experience with both Microsoft SQL Server both on-premises and Azure hosted databases required.
  • 5+ years’ hands-on experience with custom microservices and container architectures
  • 5+ years’ experience working in a test-driven development and agile environment using the latest code revision and continuous integration tools and techniques
  • 5+ years’ experience designing and building scalable and supportable API’s
  • 5+ years and strong understanding of best practices in digital and data products including cloud applications and hosting (AWS, Azure Stack)
  • Strong background in Java/J2EE, REST APIs, Web Services, Spring Framework and AWS Services or other front-end frameworks
  • Full SDLC experience required. Hands-on experience in analysis, design, development, QA, documentation, team leadership, mentoring and problem-solving
  • Experience architecting & implementing data warehouse, preferably in Azure environment.
  • Experience with big data platforms and application expertise in a large-scale environment (Hadoop, Spark, NOSQL)
  • Possess a data first approach to testing, learning and accelerating and a track record of defining and tracking metrics aligned to KPI's and benchmarks to drive process improvement
  • Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with stakeholders and business partners to resolve issues and design solutions using critical thinking and analysis skills and best practices
  • Must be flexible, collaborative and team-oriented and committed to having a good time while doing a great job



This role is based full-time in our headquarter office located in Brewster, NY. The base salary for this role is 100,000 to $135,000 plus a corporate bonus. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence the base pay offered. Additionally, we are not offering relocation assistance for this role.
