Hays is working with a extremely reputable civil general contractor located on Long Island who is looking to add an Assistant Project Manager. This company does mainly infrastructure work through out Long Island and New York City. Their projects are valued in a range of 10 million to 50 million dollars with the DDC and private entities. They offer leading salary, profit sharing, 401k, excellent medical benefits with premiums covered, and a bonus potential. Below are some of the responsibilities and qualifications for the role.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders.
  • Develop detailed project plans to monitor and track progress.
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation.
  • Assist in managing changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Report and escalate to management as needed.
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.
  • Handle RFIs, change orders, submittals, schedules, budgets, and other construction documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in project management or related role in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, means, and methods.
  • Proficiency in project management software tools.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
