Job Title: Legal Assistant - Personal Injury Law Firm

Location: Sugar Land, TX (In-person position)

Note: This is NOT a remote job. It is in-person, in Sugar Land.

Position Overview:

We are currently seeking an exceptional and hard-working Legal Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a positive attitude, and a genuine desire to assist those in need.

Responsibilities:

• Arrive punctually and ready to work each day.
• Daily check and promptly return client calls.
• Handle incoming calls efficiently in our small, fast-paced office.
• Assist in converting new leads, with attorney support.
• Manage incoming mail, taking appropriate action or escalating when necessary.
• Scan, label, and upload mail to respective files.
• Follow up with client inquiries daily.
• Conduct intake meetings and perform data entry.
• Set up insurance claims, explain processes to clients, and follow up.
• Attend bi-weekly meetings, taking meeting notes and following instructions.
• Maintain regular client contact, ensuring tasks and reminders are addressed.
• Prioritize tasks effectively, adapting to changing demands.
• Request, review, and summarize medical records.
• Prepare demand letters and organize files for attorney review.
• Schedule appointments and calls, both for clients and the attorney.
• Meet with clients as needed for document signatures.
• Assist clients with applications and ensure timely returns.
• Follow up with insurance adjusters.
• Organize and send closing documents.
• Prepare legal documents based on templates for attorney review.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of personal injury experience.
• Bilingual in Spanish. (don't apply if you don't know Spanish).
• Typing speed of 50 WPM.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Reside in or near Sugar Land, TX.
• Associate or bachelor's degree.
• Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat.
• Willingness to learn new legal software.
• Reliable transportation.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent phone, typing, and computer skills.
• Clear criminal background.
• Must be willing to commit long term. (Don't apply if you are just looking for a "job")

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.67 - $18.65 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
