Key Responsibilities:


  •  Provide legal counsel and support on a wide range of issues, including regulatory compliance, contracts, litigation, and risk management.
  •  Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
  •  Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local transportation laws and regulations.
  •  Represent the company in legal proceedings and manage external counsel as needed.
  •  Advise on employment law matters, including worker's compensation and labor relations.
  •  Develop and implement policies and procedures to mitigate legal risks.
  •  Handle Employment Practices Liability Insurance (EPLI) claims, including investigation, defense, and resolution.
  •  Manage litigation, including preparing legal documents, representing the company in court, and overseeing settlement negotiations.
  •  Provide strategic legal advice on handling lawsuits and mitigating future risks.
  •  Stay current with industry trends and legal developments affecting the trucking industry.


Qualifications:


  • Familiar with employment law/work comp/bodily injury 
  • like 1
  •  Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  •  Active membership in good standing with the [State] Bar.
  •  Minimum of [X] years of experience in transportation law, corporate law, or a related field.
  •  Strong knowledge of federal and state transportation regulations.
  •  Extensive experience handling EPLI claims, litigations, and lawsuits.
  •  Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  •  Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
  •  Experience in the trucking or logistics industry is a plus.
