Position Overview:

We are looking for a skilled Transportation Engineer to handle a variety of transportation-related projects, from traffic management to roadway design. This role offers an opportunity to work on impactful projects that enhance mobility and safety in the Chicago area.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and analyze transportation systems, including roads, highways, and traffic control systems.
  • Conduct traffic studies, including capacity analysis, travel demand forecasting, and safety evaluations.
  • Develop transportation models and simulations to optimize traffic flow and reduce congestion.
  • Prepare detailed engineering reports, design specifications, and construction documents.
  • Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and team members to deliver effective transportation solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Provide technical support during the construction phase and address any design-related issues.
  • Stay informed about the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in transportation engineering.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Illinois or the ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in transportation engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency in transportation engineering software such as SYNCHRO, VISSIM, HCS, or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of transportation planning principles, traffic control devices, and roadway design.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
