Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Cloud Architect to lead the design and implementation of cutting-edge cloud-native solutions utilizing microservices architecture. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with one or more major cloud providers and a deep understanding of cloud-native principles.

Responsibilities:

  1. Design and architect scalable, resilient, and high-performance cloud-native solutions using microservices
  2. Lead the development of cloud migration strategies and modernization roadmaps
  3. Provide expert guidance on container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes
  4. Develop and implement cloud governance policies, standards, and best practices
  5. Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies to enhance our cloud infrastructure
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business objectives
  7. Mentor junior architects and engineers on cloud-native best practices
  8. Conduct architecture reviews and provide technical leadership throughout the development lifecycle
  9. Optimize cloud resource utilization and cost management

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  1. 12+ years of experience in cloud architecture, with at least 6 years focused on cloud-native solutions
  2. Expert-level knowledge of at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP); multi-cloud experience preferred
  3. Extensive experience designing and implementing microservices-based architectures
  4. Strong understanding of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
  5. Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)
  6. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  7. Familiarity with serverless computing and event-driven architectures
  8. Knowledge of API design and management
  9. Understanding of cloud security best practices and compliance requirements
  10. Experience with distributed systems and their associated challenges
  11. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to architect solutions for complex business requirements
  12. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  13. Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, GCP Professional Cloud Architect) are a plus

Additional Skills:

  1. Experience with service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd, etc.)
  2. Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools for microservices environments
  3. Knowledge of database technologies, both relational and NoSQL
  4. Understanding of event streaming platforms (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.)
  5. Experience with cloud cost optimization strategies
  6. Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies
