CDI Specialist

LaSalle Network has partnered with a leading healthcare provider in Chicago, IL in their search for a Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) Specialist. This person will play a critical role in improving the accuracy and completeness of clinical documentation through front-line CDI experience. We are looking for someone with a strong clinical background and a minimum of 5 years of acute care experience. We encourage you to apply

CDI Specialist Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive reviews of clinical documentation to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure accuracy, completeness and specificity
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, case managers, coders and other healthcare professionals to clarify and obtain additional documentation as needed
• Educate and train clinical staff on documentation best practices, coding guidelines and regulatory requirements to support accurate and compliant documentation
• Analyze clinical data, coding trends and reimbursement patterns to identify areas for improvement and implement targeted interventions
• Serve as a subject matter expert on clinical documentation integrity issues and provide guidance and support to interdisciplinary teams
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits and compliance reviews to monitor and enhance documentation practices
• Stay informed about updates and changes to regulatory requirements, coding guidelines and reimbursement policies related to clinical documentation integrity

CDI Specialist Requirements:

• 5+ years of acute care experience in Med Surg, Intensive Care, Post-Acute or Emergency Department settings
• Front-line Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) experience preferred
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; RN or NP credentials will also be considered
• Strong knowledge of clinical terminology, disease processes and treatment modalities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and critical thinking skills
