Purchasing Specialist

Education - Preference for Associated Degree
Job Description:
Will require to walk around shop floor when needed to orders - PPE required, must have steel toe shoes. Client will provide vest and safety glassed.
- Prepares purchase orders and communicate with vendor the requirements.
- Maintain accurate and organized purchasing and supplier files subject to audit.
- Maintains vendor relationship and metrics while driving continuous improvement efforts.
- Works closely with the production scheduler to enable accurate forecasting and delivery schedules.
- Collaborates with all departments to ensure on-time delivery.
Minimum Qualifications: (Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification)
- Associate's Degree in Business Administration (or a related field) or 2-3 years of relevant work experience.
- Ability to read engineering/blueprints drawings preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Familiarity with ERP systems is a must.
- Must be able to multi-task in a fast paced work environment and maintain a high degree of professionalism.
- Effective communication and problem solving skills are essential.
- Proficient in Windchill preferred.
Planning Responsibilities:
- Responsible for prioritizing work to meet customer demands and communicating the work with supervisors.
- Responsible for control of data which includes gathering and distribution of all information needed to complete work.
- Tracking and monitoring the progress and quality of sub-vendors and suppliers, USA and abroad.
