Data Center Engineer – Infrastructure, Virtualization & AutomationLocation: Phoenix, AZ / Walnut Creek, CA (Relocation required prior to full-time conversion; other locations may be considered during contract phase)Employment Type: Contract to Hire | On-site or HybridRate: $ 70-85/hrRequired: 7+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering or data center operations.Expertise with Cisco HX/UCS, VMware vSphere, Nutanix HCI, and Cohesity.Proficiency with Linux (Ubuntu, RHEL) and Windows Server platforms.Hands-on experience with automation tools like Terraform, Ansible, Puppet.Strong networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, firewalls).Scripting ability in Bash, PowerShell, or Python.Proven ability to lead, communicate across teams, and deliver technical results.Willingness to relocate to one of the designated offices prior to full-time hire. Preferred:Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.Certifications: VCP, RHCE, Nutanix NCP, CCNP, Azure/AWS Associate.Familiarity with ITIL, change management, and monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Prometheus).Exposure to containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure).
