Position Summary:
Zero Carbon Systems,, LLC is seeking an Automation T echnician. This position will report to our Director of Plant Operations and is responsible for supporting instrumentation and controls for Direct Air Capture (DAC) units.
Objectives & Responsibilities
● Troubleshoot and commission automation equipment and instrumentation including electrical systems and panels
● Builds, tests, and implements machines, instruments, and controls, including PLC and process monitors
● Implement and maintain quality control methods, HMI, and PLC systems and real-time data tracking for closed
loop feedback response
● Provides operation input to the engineering design team and reviews designs, layouts, and plans
Experience
● 3+ years of technical, hands-on experience and interest in industrial automated mechanical - electrical systems
● Hands on experience with different signal and communication formats.
o Digital (Primarily 24VDC)
o Analog (0-10V, 4-20mA, HART and IO-Link)
o Serial (RS-232 and RS-485)
o Ethernet Based (Modbus TCP/IP , Ethernet IP , Ethernet Powerlink, etc.)
Skills
● Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as mechanical and technical skills. This includes looking at
data, finding trends, analyzing those trends, and reporting effectively.
● Ability to understand and red-line system P&IDs and other controls documentation such as IO maps and process
sequence documentation.
● Ability to troubleshoot instrumentation and controls

Preferred Skills
● Experience with PLC and/or HMI programming or willingness to learn
● Experience with PLC software, remote IO, and other hardware
● Experience with different programming styles including ladder logic, structured text, and HMI design.
Physical Requirements
● Standing, bending, and walking in and around an industrial environment.
Comp: $38-48/hour
