The Geometry Engineer supports the organization in building vehicles efficiently and with the right geometry from Body shop to Final Assembly, fulfilling all Final demands and related car properties.
- Daily morning meetings with Management, GE, GT and MT reviewing the previous day activities and plan for the next coming activities and corrective actions.
- Geometry assurance systems and processes supporting the objectives and fulfilling specified PIST demands targets for Body and Final Assembly
- Assure robust Final demand measurement outcome of current/forward model with zero FTT influence or production stop time
- Ownership of the perceived quality final demands achievements towards the customers over the lifetime of the vehicle
- Geometry support to meet the objectives for vehicles 3 Months in service and beyond
- Lead, drive and follow-up daily operational analyzes, measures improvement activities (product, process and supplier)
- Geometry assurance Disciplines, Processes, Methods, and Tools to be used by plant personnel
- Support Plant Quality team areas in geometrical issues
- Deliver efficient and timely root cause analysis, containment, and permanent fixes of geometrical or quality robustness of Geometry systems or deliverables
- Input and initiate Judgement events to maintain / improve geometrical quality
- Bi-weekly alignment meeting in PIC-room with Production/Audit/QAL/Q
- Develop the Geometry Assurance function and work methods within the Geometry department within the plant and between the plants
- Feed the up-streams lessons learned and continuous improvement work towards Geometry methods and system solutions to secure business objectives
- Develop, lead, and perform continuous education & training of Geometry methods, principles, cross functional interactions and tools to the plants
Project phase
- In program lead the VIRA-tasks of Perceived Quality demands (Final Demands) between TT to Final Status Report (FSR)
- Input Systems Geometry engineer competencies in Vehicle programs
- Participate and ensure that the plant has the ability and prerequisites to fulfill geometric requirements in project phase and running products/processes
- Support with Geometry expertise towards running and Development Departments
- Initiate management systems of geometrical issues in vehicle programs
- Develop and conduct the trim part coordination process (Nominal buck) from PP series
- In MYC lead Perceived Quality demands (Final Demands) from VP to Final Status Report (FSR).
- Ownership of geometry tooling, methods and way of working, e.g. geometry setting fixtures.
Competence Requirements
- University degree, technical education or equivalent work experience
- Ability to lead and manage workgroups.
- Good process knowledge / experience of Body shop and Final Assembly.
- Good communication skills in English, oral and written
- Experience or ability to assimilate ideas and adapt these to your own operations
- Analytical thinking with an ability to structure and prioritize
