 Job Description:


BlackBirch is seeking a Senior Analyst who will assist the team in its sell-side advisory efforts by playing a key role in preparing presentations for current and prospective clients, drafting marketing materials for investors on behalf of our clients, performing various financial analysis and outputs illustrating investor returns, tracking investor feedback, and managing client data rooms for each project. The potential candidate will need to possess relevant experience and an interest in working on transactions across property types and capital structures. The potential candidate should be able to maintain strong attention to detail, handle changing workload priorities, and show excellent communication and organizational skills.

 

The Senior Analyst will be part of a growing team and will develop experience working on all facets of a transaction, with consistent and direct exposure to senior management, clients, and investors.


 Key Responsibilities:


  • Assist in creating Confidential Investment Memorandums (CIMs) summarizing client objectives and detailing investment highlights, financial returns, overview of the company, investment strategy and thesis, sector and market overview, and asset and portfolio overviews
  • Evaluate asset and portfolio investments by preparing Excel-based cash flow models that calculate IRR, NPV, equity multiples, and multi-tiered partnership waterfall distributions for clients (Argus background preferred)
  • Prepare client presentations that outline potential paths to raising capital and scaling the company, and provide periodic updates to clients on capital raising process, investor feedback, and related implications
  • Manage detailed databases of investor feedback in real time to share with clients as needed
  • Assist in client and investor correspondence by managing the data room, facilitating NDA execution, responding to investor requests, and arranging calls and meetings with both clients and investors
  • Work on ad-hoc projects and requests as needed, including gathering market and sector data, lease analysis, recapitalization scenarios, etc.
  • Participate in all calls and meetings with clients and investors


 Required Experience:


2-3 years of real estate investments or investment banking experience preferred

Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word (Argus preferred)

Strong understanding of finance / real estate finance concepts

Team player with strong communication skills
