Job Title: Sub Assembly Technician II – B Shift

Location: Merritt Island, Florida, 32953

Compensation: $38.50 per hour

Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 4:00 PM – 2:30 AM


Responsibilities:

  • Assemble a variety of structural, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanically actuated component sub-assemblies.
  • Conduct hydrostatic and pneumatic proof/leak testing.
  • Assemble structural components to aerospace standards.
  • Collaborate with engineers to review design concepts, provide feedback for ease of assembly, and support development tests.
  • Review, edit, and follow detailed work instructions for assembly tasks with a focus on precision and adherence to standards.
  • Plan and execute assembly steps for complex mechanical installations.
  • Handle hazardous systems safely, including those containing chemicals and/or under high pressure.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, integration, or a closely related field.
  • Proficiency in working with various valve types including solenoid, poppet, check, and ball valves.
  • Expertise in sealing interfaces for cryogenic systems, specifically with Oxygen, Hydrogen, or Helium.
  • Skilled in fluid system operations including fill, bleed, assembly, and purge processes.
  • Familiarity with precision assembly processes utilizing LN2, vacuum ovens, or other expansion agents.
  • Experience in working with safety-critical systems.
  • Proficient in using a wide range of precision calibrated tools such as torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, and optical measuring instruments.
  • Demonstrated ability in mechanical tools usage and basic fabrication shop equipment operation.
  • Knowledge of 5S, Foreign Object Damage (FOD), and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining accurate records and adhering to strict procedural guidelines.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
