Based in Bourne, Massachusetts, for more than 40 years Onset has been dedicated to designing and producing high-quality data loggers. Onset is seeking a friendly, professional, self-driven, customer-focused Electro-Mechanical Failure Analysis Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be a team player, capable of completing timely root cause analysis (RCA) of field returns, maintaining consistency while working in a fast-paced environment, and clearly communicating/reporting on RCA findings and results.
This is a 100% on-site position. Please do not apply if you can't make the commute.
Responsibilities:
- Perform failure analysis on field returns down to the component level to determine the root cause
- Investigate quality and design issues and make recommendations to the appropriate department for resolution
- Effectively prioritize tasks in a fast-paced work environment
- Work with tracking systems like Jira, Salesforce, and Infor CSI, managing returned product and RCA information with 100% accuracy
- Meticulously record steps taken in RCA, build trend reports, and communicate same to Technical Support Manager for further investigation and preventative action
- Use instruments like DMMs, DC power supplies, oscilloscopes, and environmental chambers to recreate problems and get to root cause
- Examine assemblies, components, or parts for defects
- Read and interpret schematics and mechanical drawings
- Consistently review product manuals and QSGs for proper device use and operation
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience conducting RCA, with a strong technical background in electronics and mechanics
- Associate’s degree or equivalent from a 2-year college, technical school, or military training
- Self-driven and eagerness to complete tasks.
- 100% customer focused personality
- Proficiency in Case Tracking, ERP, and Bug logging systems like Jira, Salesforce, and Infor CSI
- Proficiency in Microsoft business tools
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work 100% onsite
