You will bridge the gap between cutting-edge AI/ML research and mission-critical energy infrastructure, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and compliant with NERC-CIP and FERC regulations.Key ResponsibilitiesAI Strategy & RoadmapDefine and evolve Client’s multi-year AI/ML architecture roadmap aligned with business KPIs (e.g., availability, heat rate, risk-adjusted P&L).Evaluate emerging AI technologies (GenAI, reinforcement learning, digital twins) for applicability in energy markets and plant operations.Solution ArchitectureDesign end-to-end AI systems including data pipelines, model lifecycle management (MLflow/Kubeflow), inference platforms (Kubernetes, NVIDIA Triton), and edge deployment (NVIDIA Jetson, Azure Stack Edge).Architect hybrid cloud/on-prem solutions leveraging Client’s private cloud and Azure.Ensure AI systems integrate with SCADA, OSI PI, ETRM (Allegro/Endur), and SAP systems.Model Development LeadershipLead proof-of-concepts for high-impact use cases.Predictive Maintenance: Anomaly detection on turbines using vibration, thermography, and process data.Energy Trading: Reinforcement learning for congestion forecasting and virtual bidding.Emissions Optimization: Physics-informed neural networks for NOx/CO₂ minimization.Establish MLOps standards: CI/CD for models, A/B testing, drift monitoring, and explainability (SHAP/LIME).Governance & SecurityEnforce AI governance frameworks (model risk management, bias detection, audit trails).Ensure compliance with NERC-CIP, SOC 2, and emerging AI regulations.Implement secure-by-design principles for AI at the edge and in OT environments.Cross-Functional LeadershipMentor data scientists, ML engineers, and plant engineers on AI best practices.Partner with cybersecurity to harden AI inference endpoints and data flows.Present AI roadmaps and ROI analyses to C-suite and board-level stakeholders.Experience:10+ years in software/ML engineering, with 5+ years as an AI/ML Architect.Proven track record delivering production AI systems in energy, manufacturing, or heavy industry.Technical Expertise:Deep knowledge of ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX) and MLOps platforms.Expertise in time-series forecasting, anomaly detection, and reinforcement learning.Strong systems design: microservices, event-driven architecture, Kubernetes, Terraform.Experience with industrial protocols (Modbus, OPC-UA, DNP3) and historian systems (OSI PI).Domain Knowledge:Understanding of power generation (CCGT, geothermal, reciprocating engines), energy markets (ERCOT, CAISO, PJM), or emissions modeling.Soft Skills:Ability to translate complex AI concepts for non-technical stakeholders (plant managers, traders).Bias for action in regulated, high-stakes environments.Preferred QualificationsPublications or patents in AI for energy systems.Experience with digital twins (GE Predix, Siemens MindSphere) or physics-guided ML.Familiarity with FERC Order 2222, IEEE 1547, or NERC CIP-013.Certification: Azure AI Engineer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or similar..LTIMindtree is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity in the workplace.
