Role Overview: The Product Developer will facilitate and execute Merchants/Designs’ vision from product development through production.


Product Developer Responsibilities:

  • Execute category product development/sourcing strategies that align with production strategies and category goals.
  • Develop and oversee production lifecycle from time of development handover to shipment of product.
  • Ensure on time shipment of quality product while exceeding margin goals and maintaining product integrity.
  • Possess the ability to see the bigger picture and influence/evolve overall department processes and efficiencies.
  • Drive seasonal allocation strategies as created by the Director of Sourcing.
  • Communicate with vendors to understand sample execution issues and provide support in resolving them in a timely manner.
  • Prepares for milestone meetings and presentations by coordinating all costing and samples
  • Review costing with Director sourcing for each costing milestone
  • Monitor on-time delivery of samples for milestone meetings and report style level status and specifics to cross functional teams


Product Developer Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 3+ Years of product development experience in womens and mens apparel
  • Ability to establish relationships with factories and vendors.
  • A strong sense of trend and industry knowledge
  • Computer skills: Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Web-based applications.
