About the Role:

The Electrician's duties include regular troubleshooting and maintenance of electrical systems, as well as repairing equipment and facilities as needed. This role involves installing, disassembling, inspecting, repairing, and replacing faulty components across various electrical devices and facilities. The Electrician will utilize fundamental technical principles to diagnose issues with system equipment, carry out necessary repairs, coordinate further diagnostic or repair assistance, and establish and conduct regular maintenance inspections.


Responsibilities:

  • Install cable and hook up to enclosures, operator boxes and building penetrations.
  • Install and wire low voltage (Up to 480 VAC-3 Phase) switch panels and disconnects.
  • Install and wire emergency lighting fixtures.
  • Perform multi-conductor cable termination in panels.
  • Understand and apply readings from test instruments such as Analog and Digital Multimeter, A/C and D/C Clamp Ammeter, Tone Generator/Tracer (Fox and Hound), Megger.
  • Install, wire and troubleshoot Motor Control Center devices.
  • Troubleshoot and replace electrical motors.
  • Install wire and troubleshoot permanent and temporary transformers.
  • Coordinate and communicate future and ongoing work operations with Platform’s Production Personnel.
  • Install and troubleshoot solar panel installations and their associated solar panel charging system.
  • Provide directives, assignments and work guidelines to other contracted construction projects electrical personnel.
  • Accept directives, assignments and work guidelines from the Area Lead Automation/Electrical Technician.
  • Ascertain cable routes and plan installation.
  • Determine proper electrical installations for the area classification.
  • Plan, layout and perform installations of cable trays.
  • Produce material take-off for repairs or special projects as well as develop material requisitions.
  • Ensure daily inspection and maintenance on electrical equipment is completed.
  • Maintain an adequate supply of spare parts in order to fulfill maintenance requirements and facilitate a safe and efficient operation – generate requisitions as required.


Work and communicate in a professional and respectful manner within a team environment. Manage multiple projects at different stages simultaneously. Prioritize daily tasks effectively and demonstrate excellent time management skills. Understand basic wiring principles. Interpret and comprehend electrical connection diagrams for standard electrical systems. Possess knowledge of the oil and gas industry.


Education/Experience:

High school Diploma or equivalent GED certificate. Military technical school or Vo-Tech courses or certificate or the equivalent education, training and experience. Minimum One year Electrical or Offshore Production or Drilling Rig electrical - maintenance preferred.
