Job Description:


We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Project Finance and Tax Equity to join our clients dynamic team. As the Director, you will play a pivotal role in managing the financial aspects of our battery storage projects, with a focus on securing project financing and tax equity investments. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of projects from inception to completion.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Strategy Development: Develop and execute comprehensive financial strategies for battery storage projects, including project financing and tax equity structures, to optimize returns and mitigate risks.
  2. Project Financing: Lead the negotiation and structuring of project financing agreements with lenders, investors, and financial institutions. Manage relationships with banking partners and secure competitive financing terms.
  3. Tax Equity Investment: Identify, evaluate, and secure tax equity investments for battery storage projects. Navigate complex tax equity structures and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
  4. Financial Modeling: Create detailed financial models to assess project viability, evaluate investment opportunities, and support decision-making processes. Conduct sensitivity analyses and scenario planning to assess project risks and potential returns.
  5. Due Diligence: Oversee financial due diligence processes, including reviewing project documentation, financial statements, and legal agreements. Coordinate with legal, technical, and engineering teams to address due diligence findings and mitigate risks.
  6. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with battery storage projects, including market risks, regulatory risks, and financial performance risks. Implement risk management strategies to safeguard project profitability and ensure financial resilience.
  7. Stakeholder Management: Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, including project development, engineering, and operations teams, to align financial strategies with project objectives. Engage with external stakeholders, such as investors, lenders, and regulatory authorities, to foster positive relationships and facilitate project success.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in project finance, tax equity structuring, or renewable energy finance, with a focus on battery storage projects.
  • Proven track record of successfully securing project financing and tax equity investments for energy infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of financial modeling, valuation techniques, and investment analysis.
  • In-depth knowledge of renewable energy markets, financing mechanisms, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with financial partners and stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex financial concepts to diverse audiences.
