DER Analyst
Duration: 6-month contract
Location: Portland, OR Remote
The Distributed Energy Resources (DER) Analyst will play a pivotal role in enhancing the engineering and technical rigor applied to valuing the aggregate Flex Load resource within the Distributed Resource Planning (DRP) team. The consultant will contribute to refining and implementing cost-effectiveness methodologies, conducting thorough cost-benefit analyses, and collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders to assess and adjust a cost-effectiveness model.
Position Responsibilities:
• Assess current cost-effectiveness inputs and methodologies, aligning them with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Develop new features for benefits tests and revise cost-effectiveness model to quantify the impacts of different DER measures and programs.
• Enhance the evaluation of DER values, provide training on new methodologies, and developing strategic implementation plans.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gain insights into ongoing projects and initiatives, refining and enhancing the current cost-benefit analysis framework and modeling tools specific to DERs.
• Communicate complex concepts effectively to diverse stakeholders, facilitating collaboration and alignment on new methodologies and strategic implementation plans.
Position Requirements:
• A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required, with an advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the utility sector or related fields is necessary.
• Utilities experience is required.
• Experience in DER modeling and cost-benefit analysis is necessary.
• Strong understanding of utility regulatory environments and business operations is needed.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills are required.
• Experience in energy policy related to DERs is beneficial.
