Dahlkemper's Jewelry Connection is looking for an experienced bench jeweler who has a minimum of 5 years experience working professionally on the jewelers bench. This candidate would enjoy working independently (self motivated) but also be okay working in the same area as our other jewelers (sharing a laser welder, a rhodium playing station, a cleaner, a buffing station, etc.) This candidate would have their own bench & tools. Candidates with strong communication skills, who can work as a team with others as well as make customers feel welcome in our store will do very well.

Desired Bench Skills:

  • Ring sizing in silver, karat gold, and platinum
  • Re-tipping and re-building prongs, efficiently.
  • Setting stones of various shapes and sizes is a must.
  • Proper rhodium plating technique
  • Soldering cracks and breaks in jewelry
  • Working with platinum in terms of sizing, re-shanking a platinum ring and re-tipping prongs.
  • Working with a laser welder to conduct repairs.

Position Requirements:

  • High school degree or equivalent preferred but not required.
  • 5 years Bench Jeweler (or relevant) experience in skilled trades working with fine metals.
  • Passing a qualified bench test to assess current jeweler level.
  • Excellent organizational skills & attention to details.
  • Customer service minded individuals with a high standard for quality work.
  • AJP and/or New Approach education/training is a plus
