Credentialing Specialist                          

 

Currently looking for a full-time credentialing specialist. The credentialing specialist position is responsible for gathering information regarding a provider’s qualifications for appointments to the medical staff of a hospital and/or facility.   

Responsibilities:

 

·        Communicating with New Providers to obtain necessary credentialing documents to set up a file for them and begin the credentialing process with facilities.

·        Sending New Providers necessary IAM paperwork (blank W-9, TSCA forms).

·        Adding New Providers to spreadsheets.

·        Communicating with facilities regarding new or reappointment applications for providers; sending updated credentialing documents to the facilities when necessary; sending documents or information to facilities when requested. 

·        Adding new providers to insurance contracts (BCBS, Cigna, UHC, BS&W, Medicare, Medicaid, BSWQA).

·        Assisting with completion of all applications (new and reappointment), and then communicating with providers to get signatures.

·        Updating provider information on TSCAs, Medicare website, Medicaid website, with facilities, and anywhere else necessary.

·        Maintaining electronic files for all providers on the Q drive. All current credentialing documents, as well as credentialing applications, are kept secure in provider folders on the Q drive.

·        Assisting as needed with special projects and tasks.

Requirements:

·        Proven experience as a credentialing specialist or similar role.

·        Previous medical office experience is desired.

·        Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are required.

·        Commitment to high level of customer service.
